About Our Pastor

Pastor Hughes has been in full time ministry for over 30 years. He has started two local Baptist churches and has preached to congregations in Alabama, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and China.

Since becoming Pastor of Bible Baptist Church in Port Orchard, WA in 1986, the congregation has grown and built a new church facility. Other preachers have been trained and ordained to the Gospel ministry under his leadership.

In addition to several articles appearing in major Christian publications, Dr. Hughes has also authored several books and booklets.

Pastor Hughes’ wife, Barbara, works in the church office, plays the piano, and conducts the Ladies ministries of the church.
