Suggested Icebreaker:  What is the most daring thing you have ever done?  What made it so daring?

***Summarize this week’s message using the Pastor’s Sermon Notes***

Passage: Romans 15:1-7

1.  What is the difference between the help (and therefore the hope) the world gives and the help the church ought to give?

2.  Discord is fundamentally a lack of harmony.  What are some things that cause a lack of harmony in the church?

3.  Verses 1 – 3 tell us that we are to put others before ourselves, which will require sacrifice on our part.  What have you sacrificed to help someone else?

4.  I’ve known several people (including myself) who have left churches because they were “not getting anything out of it”.  After absorbing the message of this passage, is that a valid reason?

5.  Application:  Do you find it difficult to set aside pride and accept help when you’re in the role of the “weak” one?  Why or why not?

6.  Application:  Verse 7 tells us to receive one another as Christ received us, which may require forgiveness and abundant grace on our part.  Is there someone at church you have not/will not receive?  What is holding you back?
