Passage: 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

1.  Why do you think Paul takes the time to explain that the dead will rise first?  What is the significance of the dead rising first?

2.  Verse 13 tells us that we are not to sorrow as those who have no hope, so why then do we still mourn those who are asleep in Christ?

3.  When Jesus returns, what is the significance of Him doing so with a shout, the voice of the archangel, and the trump of God?

4.  Why does Paul want us to not be ignorant of the Rapture of the church?  Are we living like we hope the Rapture will happen today?

5.  Application:  What would you like to be found doing when Jesus comes back?  How often are you doing that now?

6.  Application:  Picture in your mind (if you can) 2,000 years worth of Christians gathered together in the sky.  How does it make you feel to realize you’ll be among them?  What will you do with that feeling?

7.  Application:  Picture billions of lost souls left behind in darkness on the Earth, with very little hope of escaping God’s wrath.  How does that make you feel?  What will you do with that feeling?

What a day of rejoicing that will be!
