Passage: Luke 23:26
1. Â Carrying a cross requires enormous effort and complete focus on the path laid out before you, so why have you chosen this for yourself?
2. Â We might tend to see Simon as a victim in this passage and overlook the opportunity that was given Him to do a great service for Christ. Â When God comes with a cross for you to bear, do you focus on the suffering and not the service? Â Why or why not?
3. Â Initially, Simon had chosen to be simply another bystander, and had to be compelled to serve. Â How ought we be different?
4. Â Application: Â Taking up your cross, denying yourself and following Christ is easier said than done! Â How would you tell a new Christian to go about accomplishing it?
