Backus and Chapian define self-talk as, “….the words we tell ourselves in our thoughts. It means the words we tell ourselves about people, self, experiences, life in general, God, the future, the past, the present; it is specifically, all the words you say to yourself all the time.”[1] This personal assessment requires honesty and humility.[2] Begin thinking about what sort of self-talk runs through your mind.
