Jesus did something most preachers would never do—He thinned out the crowd. He sifted the “saints from the ain’ts”—From those who wanted the blessings of following Jesus without being fully committed to Him.
You can live without a lot of things—But blood isn’t one of them (Lev. 17:11).
The highest honor a layman can ever receive on earth is to be elected a deacon by the church. While it is an honor to hold the office of deacon, the office of a deacon is more than a title. A deacon is to USE the office, not merely hold it.
Try to visualize what Jesus is saying. Picture someone trying to remove a tiny speck from a person’s eye while he has a protruding log stuck in his own eye! It is ludicrous—ridiculous.
Why worry when worry will never change your situation one way or the other? To worry about something you cannot change is DUMB… To worry about something you can change is DUMBER!
