The path of Salvation is as easy as 1 2 3.

Step 1: Curiosity about Salvation

Step 2: Understand we all need Salvation

Step 3: Accept the gift of Salvation

Simple really. Of course there is a little more to it than that, but that’s the basics. Lets look a little bit more at those steps.

Step 1: Curiosity..Congratulation’s! You’ve got step 1 down. If you didn’t want to know more you wouldn’t be here reading this. I know it sounds odd, but this step is the hardest one of all, most people in the world will never get here. Most people will say “Salvation? Nah I don’t need that, I’m a good person.” and move on with their lives not knowing how close they came, not knowing they made one of the biggest choices a person can make in their life.

Step 2: Understanding..The bible tells us very clearly “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Romans 3:23 Very straight forward. ALL have sinned, you , me, your Mom and Dad, every last one of us. We have all made mistakes, and because we made those mistakes we came short of the glory of God. Romans also tells us “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23 This is one of my favorite versus in the Bible. Most people don’t understand that, this verse tells me that salvation is a gift. I don’t have to do anything to earn it, there are no strings attached, it’s a gift freely given. God gave that gift to all of us in the best known verse in the Bible “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 He gave us that gift, and it cost him his son. Salvation is a gift, without it we die, and not just a physical death a spiritual one, once we leave this world we go to the next, and without the gift of Salvation we go to Hell, no amount of good works changes that. We must make the choice to accept the gift he offers us. Which leads us to Step 3.

Step 3: Acceptance… Here is the last choice to make on this path, to accept the Gift or not. “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” God wanted it to be simple, he made it easy for any to come to Him. We only have to accept the gift Jesus left for us when he died. You simply need to say to the Lord, I accept the gift of Salvation, I accept that I have sinned, and that Jesus paid for that sin. He made it easy for a reason, no one has to work to earn Salvation, it’s a gift we can’t earn, it is freely given.

So there it is, simple words that have been around for a few thousand years, and still hold true today. You have a choice to make, accept the gift of salvation and eternal life, or don’t and when your life ends, it really ends.  All you need to do to accept the gift is to say to the Lord “I accept the gift you gave to me, I believe Jesus died for my sins, and he rose again.” You don’t even have to say those words, you can choose your own, the Lord will know what is in your heart when you pray to accept His gift.
