Lesson 3: The Judge Who Put Out the Fleece
Please read the selected weekly Scripture before arriving to your LifeGroup. This lesson introduces us to a mighty man of valour and a famous judge named Gideon. The Midianites had troubled and impoverished the Israelites, holding them in constant fear. Suddenly, an Angel of the Lord appeared unto Gideon. He was nominated to deliver Israel from the Midianites. Being unaware of the stranger, he shared his doubts about God’s presence and protection among his people. The Angel of God revealed Himself through a sign. However, Gideon continued to request signs to confirm the promises of God. Following the Will of God requires faith. We must be willing to do whatever He assigns us and wherever He leads us. Our task is not to test the Lord, but to trust in Him completely.

Note(s) to LifeGroup Leaders:
Please read most of the commentary to your LifeGroup. You may summarize it if necessary, but there is nothing wrong with reading it. If you are a husband and wife team leading, perhaps take turns reading to the group. There is valuable review of the Scripture passages and application for effective discussion. Use your LifeGroup members to read Scripture.
The “Making It Personal” section is not designed for group discussion. These are questions that you might use to conclude before prayer. They are questions that prompt personal conviction and application. Please use them at your discretion to help your group.
