Scripture Reading

Colossians 3:18-4:1

Lesson 11: Relationships at Home and at Work

The Bible teaches us not only what to believe but also how to live. For example, Colossians 3:18-4:1 teaches us to honor the Lord in two of the most difficult places to live for Him: the home and the workplace.[1] This lesson will encourage you to strengthen your testimony and cultivate patience in the midst of trying circumstances.

Note(s) to LifeGroup Leaders:

  • Bible Baptist Church believes that all scripture is given by inspiration of God (2 Tim. 3:16) and that God has promised to preserve His pure words (Ps. 12:6-7). We believe that the Authorized King James Bible is the inspired and preserved words of God in the English language and is therefore the supreme, inerrant, infallible, and final authority in all matters of faith, creeds, and conduct. Bible Baptist Church nor its leadership endorses every word, concept, or comment in the lesson studies. However, we do ascribe to the general biblical truths contained therein. LifeGroup Leaders must exercise discretion in leading their individual LifeGroup.
  • Please read most of the commentary to your LifeGroup. You may summarize it if necessary, but there is nothing wrong with reading it. If you are a husband and wife team leading, perhaps take turns reading to the group. There is valuable review of the Scripture passages and application for effective discussion. Use your LifeGroup members to read Scripture.
  • The “Making It Personal” section is not designed for group discussion. These are questions that you might use to conclude before prayer. They are questions that prompt personal conviction and application. Please use them at your discretion to help your group.
